As I mentioned in a previous post on annual rose pruning— the rewards are INCREDIBLE and will showcase your efforts by putting out gorgeous roses on a more productive framework.
Watch the video above to learn more about how to prune and train climbing roses. Towards the end of the video you’ll see the first flush of blooms on very short stems. Take a look at the photo below, which is the “After” pruning and defoliating. You’ll notice that on the existing canes, & those that are newly trained and tied-in, laterals have been pruned to 1 or 2 buds.
