Some of the show stoppers featured in this post are flowering plums, saucer and star magnolias.
It’s just that time of year…first quarter in business and still winter here in the SF Bay area. In temperate climates, expect these trees to be blooming in spring… NYC – March April.

Saucer magnolias steel the show in February and March. The photo, above, is taken of white flowering saucer magnolia variety (Magnolia soulangeana ‘Alba’), which has more upright growth than most.

I would say that another spectacular feature of the saucer magnolia is the plump and fuzzy flower buds.
