To start, I want to plant a seed here, and it comes from these photos taken in San Francisco where a homeowner decided to dress their entrance with more than bows and greenery for the holidays, but to go for it also with an abundance of real citrus and fruit.
The home is on a pretty secluded street in Russian Hill where houses and tall high rise buildings coexist, living as good neighbors. This particular home is planted and dressed year round with greenery coming from well trained and clothed evergreen shrubs, that accompanied with the red bricks in low lighting is stunning.
Anyway, the bountiful fruit-centric garland of greenery festooning the stairway’s railing is only seasonal; but, what if some of the crops – the lemons, the orange fruits, the apples were grown in a sunny spot on the property and used around Xmas to decorate on an annual basis?
