Now, before I begin a short, mostly photo chat about Banana Republic, I want you to know that I’m not affiliated with this brand. It’s true that I did sell clothes at this flagship Grant Avenue, San Francisco store (eons ago) for about a year, but that was before I got into a life of plants, gardens and outdoor living.
Anyway, here’s what I’m thinking they did right.
Nailed it with Shelving:
Love the wide shelving with bold tropical plants. The massive leaves of the split leaf philodendron along with other strong architectural plants makes a statement in a large space. They also bring warmth and a homey feel.
I like that this is done in a way that doesn’t feel contrived. It’s a living wall so to speak, with a plant palette that includes: ferns, mother in law’s tongue (Sanseveria) philodendron, and fiddle leaf fig (Ficus lyrata).
I walked around checking all of the plants to see if they were real or fake, and these turned out to be fakes (hard to tell. Look so real.)
ps: Want to design your own Tillandsia terrarium, planter or wall hanging? I’ve included my Amazon link – for example, the Hinterland Air Plant Assortment is a great place to start. Remember, these plants (Tillandsia air plants) still need water (but no soil). They also have great succulent assortment packs.
