I was thinking about interesting succulent plant pairings for containers, and got excited by the thought of alpine plants: those that grow at a high elevation, above tree line. What would be great about combining succulents and alpine plants (also called rock garden plants); is that both types of plants share the same slow growth rate and both require fast draining soils. Another similarity? Most alpine plants enjoy full sun, as do many types of succulents. BAM. Good pairing, right? Nope. There is also a major difference. Watch this super short video and find out what that difference is.
